When Joanna of Carina Photographics asked me to be photographed in a custom paper gown for a bridal shoot, I said YES. I’m a huge fan of her work and think she’s amazing.

This was my first time doing a project like this, and it was a highlight of a pretty amazing month.

Check out the results!

Honestly, after I said yes to this shoot, I kept wondering ‘Am I the best person for this?’ I hadn’t modeled before and wanted to make sure I could do my part well.

But the timing was so interesting…

  • At the time Joanna asked, I had been working with a physical trainer for several months and was really enjoying with the results.
  • Collaborations are at the top of my 2018 list- I enjoy to build with other entrepreneurs who are doing great work.

And my “word” for 2018 was Surreal…so I said Yes!

As a mom and entrepreneur, I’m often calling the shots. It was really nice to put that role down for the day and to be guided through this experience.

I’m at a point in my career where I can be quite selective about the projects I take on, and this one was a dream scenario. This dress is made mostly of paper products. The white part of the dress is cupcake liners. Yeah, you read that right. Cupcake liners.

The level of artistry is insane.

The women involved with this project were all incredibly talented. The attention and intention that went into each piece really shows. It was so cool to spend the day with these ladies – I would have loved to connect with each of them personally!
